Inspiration from Nepal

Tangbusche masque in Nepal.

As we approach our one year date since our trip to Mount Everest, I am happy to say that I am back on schedule for my drawings. Since 1976, I have been able to produce at least one major drawing a year. I define a major drawing as one that has at least 750 to 1600 actual work hours involved.

This particular drawing is of a Mosque that we passed on our way to base camp. I loved the colors that I saw on it as it was surrounded by snowy mountains. It just simply spoke to me and said, you must draw me to leave to my family.

For the last 10 years or so, as I think about aging, I decided to leave an artistic trail of my travels through my art work. This drawing happens to be my 2013 drawing. Actually, I did two drawings this year because I did not make a drawing for 2012, because I was training for Mt. Everest.
